Ottawa: The protesters of truck drivers who occupy the Canadian capital did not show signs of Tuesday’s backwards, despite the new emergencies called to provide extensive new forces to end their weeks’ protests over Covid rules.
The day after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau summoned an emergency law, the truck driver seemed unpaned – if anyone hardened their attitude to move their big rig to a harder position to drive away, with signs that read: “Hold.”
“The truck driver is not everywhere,” said a protester who gave his name just as Tyler, sitting on the wheel of the truck parked outside the parliament.
Move the Trudeau Marks only the second time in Canada’s history, the emergency power has been summoned in peace.
The authorities have been proven to be proven to be able to end the truck driver movement, which has paralyzed the Canadian capital Ottawa for more than two weeks, trading the border border with the United States and raises copycat protests abroad.
Facing intense criticism for failure to expel the protesters, Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly suddenly resigned on Tuesday.
Sloly said repeatedly that he did not have the resources to remove the demonstrators safely, but in a farewell statement said the authorities “now it is better to be positioned to end this work.”
The so-called “freedom convoy” starts with a truck driver who protested the covid vaccine mandatory to cross the US border, but his demands have grown to include the tip to all pandemic health rules and, for many people, wider anti-establishment agenda.
In the latest steps to soften the tough limit, federal officials announced Tuesday check easing and Covid-19 rules for vaccinated travelers arrived at their borders, including no longer requiring PCR tests.
“This change might not only because we have passed the top of Omicron,” said Minister of Health Jean-Yves Duclos, but because Canadians follow public health guidance “to protect themselves, their families and their communities.”
Meanwhile, Quebec joined several other provinces in announcing it would no longer need evidence of JAB Covid to shop, eat in restaurants and for other indoor activities, starting next month – recorded a decrease in hospitalization.
– Border protests ending –
At home Commons, Minister of Public Security Marco Mendicino recorded a “significant progress” in bringing the intersection of the border intersection which he said was carried out by “a very small and organized group that tried to improve our way of life.”
The police for the weekend cleared the demonstrators from the Ambassador Bridge connecting Windsor, Ontario and Detroit in the state of Michigan – arrest 46 people and seized 37 vehicles.
And on Tuesday the protesters left the border checkpoint at Alberta, while the intersection in Manitoba is expected to be reopened on Wednesday, according to the federal police.
One day the previous police had swooped and arrested around a dozen protesters with rifles, pistols, body armor and ammunition on the border between coutt, Alberta and sweet grass, Montana.
“The Group is said to have the willingness to use the power of the police if there is an attempt to disturb the blockade,” said the Royal Canadian police officer installed in a statement.
