‘A Brief History of Seven Killings’ TV Adaptation Eying Move to Netflix

The TV series adaptation from a short history of seven murders has the potential to Netflix, what is on Netflix.

First published in October 2014, this book comes from Novelis Marlon James also known for Novel John Crow’s Devil, Black Leopard Red Wolf, and Moon Witch, Spider King. This book has a rating of 3.89 on Goodreads.

The following is a short complicated about what the book is and what we can expect into the TV series:

“On December 3, 1976, just before Jamaica’s general election and two days before Bob Marley would play Jamaican’s smile concert, Gunmen invaded his house, the machine gun was on. The attack almost killed The Reggae Superstar, his wife, and manager, and injured several others . Marley will continue to appear at a free concert on December 5, but he left the country the following day, not to return for two years. “

This will not be the first and second time this book has been set for adaptation. Back in 2015, Penguin’s book released a press release (now deleted – see the archive link here) that HBO has chosen television rights. That’s with Eric Roth involved. Fast forward two years and Amazon Studios then tapped Melina Matsoukas to direct the project that seemed to move away from HBO.

Back in the Hollywood reporter article, they note that Jill Soloway and its production company involve production. This has not been confirmed whether this is no longer happening.

Now, five years in, this series is very calm but as we have posted above, some production lists seem to attach the project to Netflix.

Both previous iterations from the Eric Roth adaptation list, the ACADEMY award-winning screenwriter, the Forrest Gump award winning film and the upcoming Apple Scorsese film, the moon murderer was registered for producing. It still happens according to the production list for the Netflix connected project.

MXN Entertainment (run by Mason Novick and Michelle Knudsen) is behind the project that has produced films such as Ricky and Flash, red eyes, young adults, and even producing ARQ for Netflix in September 2016.
