They are trying to keep the action legally legitimate but, unfortunately, the situation causes chaos,” further reading added that two people had been arrested from those arrested from the location. As many as 27 people have been arrested since the dispute began in the city. In his latest update on Monday, LeicesterShire police said that operations to prevent chaos were in East Leicester.
“Police operations to prevent further disturbances from continuing in East Leicester on Sunday (18 September). It was supported by resources from a number of neighboring police forces, including the installed police unit. The distribution and stop and search power are used to restore calm, “LeicesterShire police said in a statement. The police said that 15 people were arrested during the operation and all remained in police custody.
“Officers became aware of a group of young men gathered on Sunday afternoon in the North Edington area. Officers spoke to them and took steps, including placing temporary police ropes, to minimize damage and disturbance to the community. The impact of this disturbance on our local community is unacceptable. We will not tolerate violence, chaos, or intimidation in Leicester and we continue to call for calm and dialogue. Our police operations and investigations continue with accuracy and scale. Thank you to all those who have supported our work to reduce tension and bring people to court, “added the statement.
In another statement posted on Twitter Leicestershire Police said, “To fight wrong information and rumors on the field or on social media, we urge you to only share information on social media that you know well. Follow our social media channels for further updates. ” Violence erupted at Leicester City after Pakistani defeat by India in the Asian Cup match on August 28.
