Three Indians were stranded in the city of Kherson South Ukraine, which was arrested by Russia, has been evacuated – with the help of the Russian army, the first since the invasion began.
The Indian Embassy in Moscow helps facilitate the evacuation of these three Indians – a student and two businesses – Via Simferopol (Crimea) and Moscow.
A diplomat at the embassy in Moscow told Indian Express Tuesday: “We facilitate the push of the convoy of buses to Simferopol and then help them come to Moscow by train after they ride their flight on Tuesday. One of them is a student who heads to Chennai. Two is businessman leading to Ahmedabad. “
This is the first time the Russian military has helped evacuate Indians from the Ukrainian region. More than 22,000 Indians – more than 17,000 of them were evacuated by special flights compiled by the Indian government – managed to leave Ukraine since January last week this year.
From these people, the substantial segment can go because both Ukrainians and Russia adhered to their weapon ceasefire commitment.
But they all went from the Western border – through Poland, Hungary, Romania and the Slovak Republic.
This is the first example of India that goes through the eastern border and Russia.
A top official from the Russian Ministry of Defense said that his troops had taken control of the entire Kherson region, after the capital city of the region with the same name was arrested on March 3.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday interacts with stakeholders involved in Ganga operations.
