“Pakistan strongly believes that relations between countries must be based on mutual respect, non-internal internal affairs, and resolving peaceful problems by upholding the principles of the UN Charter, international law and bilateral agreements,” he added. The ‘One-China’ policy is a diplomatic recognition of China’s position that there is only one Chinese government. Under the policy, the US acknowledged and had a formal relationship with China rather than the island of Taiwan, which was seen by China as a province that separates to be reunited with land one day.
